Animal Scuplture Project

For this project we will be looking at artists who paint or sculpt in a very stylised way. One artist we will be focusing on is Govinder Nazran. His paintings and sculptures of animals, in particular cats and dogs are often large in shape, and vivid in colour.

Assessments

  1. Create a drawing of an animal using mixed media including black biro and grey pencil, you may add washes of watercolour if you wish. Drawing must be a minimum of A4 in scale and take at least 3 hours to complete. 
  2. Create a sculpture of an animal.  Your sculpture can be made out of any material and can be any scale , it must take a minimum of 3 hours to make.
  3. Create a cubist animal painting/drawing informed by the work of Pablo Picasso. Work must take at least 3hours and must include tone.

  • Watch Video clips on how to create an animal sculpture.
  • Research how to create art work using mixed media.
  • Practise drawing animals using a biro. 
  • Research the sculptural work  and paintings of Govinder Nasran.
  • Research the work of Cubist artist Picasso.
  • Write ten fact about Picassos cubist art work.
